Plywood for
the rainy day!

Focus on what matters:
WISA®-Spruce WR can handle the weather.

WISA®-SpruceWR is a lightweight water-repellent plywood panel for structural uses. This plywood innovation has what it takes to withstand changing weather conditions at construction sites. It saves time, money and additional trouble when you don't have to worry about every rain drop – making your project more efficient and profitable.

Even in challenging weather, water-repellent plywood WISA-SpruceWR keeps your site going and you focused on the essential.

Progress on site – rain or shine

Untreated standard plywood panels are vulnerable to harsh weather conditions. Plenty of valuable working time at the construction site can be spent on covering them up at the end of the day, and on removing the covers in the morning. With water-repellent plywood WISA-SpruceWR you can transform the time-consuming covering into productive worktime. WISA-SpruceWR frees you from all that hassle, improving productivity and helping the project stay on schedule.

How does it work?

The secret ingredient in WISA-SpruceWR water-repellent plywood is a wood-based agent that creates a hydrophobic layer to the surface to slow moisture penetration into the structure. At the same time, the layer allows the panel to breathe and water vapour to move freely. The layer inhibits the absorption of water – yet allowing the wood to dry after rain.

No to moisture damage

If standard plywood panels are exposed to moisture and do not have enough time to dry before construction is finished, problems, such as moisture damage, could be expected in the future.

Thanks to the fact that spruce is less hygroscopic and therefore absorbs moisture more slowly, the natural durability of spruce plywood is already rather better than the standard classification. With WISA-SpruceWR water-repellent plywood you can consider challenging weather a non-issue.

Wood-Based and breathable materials

WISA-Spruce WR water-repellent plywood is treated with a wood-based surface treatment, protecting it from rain. The surface treatment improves the efficiency of construction work while the surface allows the panel to breathe and dry freely thus preserving the great natural properties of wood as a breathing and healthy building material.
